Here’s what The Counteroffensive is reading today:

Ukraine's anti-corruption bodies searched the residence of Yermak, Zelenskyy's Chief of Staff, as part of Ukraine's biggest corruption scandal.

Yermak is still set to lead Ukraine's negotiators in the ongoing peace talks.

President Trump pledged to “permanently pause migration” from certain countries in social media posts, hours after announcing one of the National Guard members shot near the White House had died of her injuries.
Trump vows immigration policy changes after guard member dies of injuries
The president said he would halt migration “from all Third World Countries” in social media posts following the death of National Guard member Spec. Sarah Beckstrom.

It isn't a plan to end the war. It's a plan to let us regroup so we can invade again.
The plan to end the war in Ukraine doesn’t ensure peace—it ensures profits for Trump’s inner circle.

Ugh. I was hoping we'd manage to beat down this threat to democracy before they made much progress in the direction of tearing this country's multicultural heritage limb from limb.

But it seems as if they're leaning into it with all possible force.
Trump: “I will permanently pause migration from all Third World Countries … denaturalize migrants who undermine domestic tranquility, and deport any Foreign National who is a public charge, security risk, or non-compatible with Western Civilization.“

Trump is an instinctive bigot, but he doesn’t have the attention span to be an ideologically committed white nationalist. He also craves approval from everyone (e.g. his Mamdani meeting). That’s why Miller’s role as Trump’s white nationalist whisperer has been so important. bsky.app/profile/atru...

How Republicans commemorated Thanksgiving in 1869--with a multi-racial/multi-ethnic gathering of people at a table with a centerpiece celebrating universal suffrage and self-government, and with an engraving of Castle Garden, the pre-Ellis Island point of disembarkation for immigrants.

In 2005 Duke undergraduate Stephen Miller wrote this piece framing multiculturalism as a form of unpatriotic segregationism. He has always been a maladjusted white nationalist who doesn’t understand what the US is. bsky.app/profile/seth...
Stephen Miller wrote this piece for the Duke student newspaper TWENTY YEARS AGO. You won't find a single talking point in here that a) wasn't already a stale Limbaugh-esque talking point in 2005 and b) isn't also the cutting edge of GOP messaging about universities today.

The premise of All in the Family was that the moral arc of American culture could bend toward justice as long as we tapped into our fundamental human decency (Edith) and the idealism of young people (Meathead and Gloria) so as to gradually drag scared reactionary bigots into the modern world.

The reality, of course, is that Miller and a significant portion of Trump’s base are the ones who failed to assimilate to America’s post-WWII culture of multi-racial democracy & religious pluralism…and they are now using their power to destroy that once dominant (and still popular) American culture.
Stephen Miller is now arguing that assimilation is fundamentally impossible and that certain cultures are not compatible with Western civilization

What I always find fascinating about comments like this is that they have been made about literally every immigrant group throughout American history: Germans, Irish, Miller's Jewish ancestors, etc.

I have volumes of ugly tracts about how Jews, Germans, Finns, Hungarians, Poles, and "Papists" can't possibly acclimate to American life because they are hereditary degenerates.

We’re getting taxed twice because he enacted the tariffs. Tariffs are a tax.

Say it with me - tariffs are a tax.

So, now he claims he’s going to rid us of one of the taxes we pay? Oh. Ok.

The *open and obvious alliance* to be precise. Part of the July Crisis was that Sir Edward Grey failed to establish boundaries with the Germans or clear lines of our responsibilities to the French.
An unappreciated fact is that the truly game-changing invention of the post-WWII world is the alliance, and its demise will make everyone worse off.

I think it most likely the Dim Philby leaks came from Russia. But if they came from Europe it’s a clever way to tell the US that Europe has started going it alone on intel.

Keep in mind one of most important points of leverage is intel sharing.
