I found Ian's shoelace site more than 10 years ago, and I changed how I tied my shoes then. I remember alerting my friends at the time time, that, yes, you can teach an old dog new tricks. :)

Wellington Girls’ has moved to WFH for at least Monday-Wednesday next week after another measles case was found. The student was at prize giving, so basically the whole school is now affected. As are family members who attended. Contract tracing is going to be a bit of a trick.

National so far this term:

Getting to your meeting 30 seconds quicker is a higher priority than protecting kids from cars on their way to school

Keeping school attendance up is a higher priority than protecting kids from measles

Saving a few bucks is a higher priority than a decent lunch

Now we just found the house that my husband's parents were building on a 10 acre block in 1978, still under construction. If there was more resolution and you squinted very hard, maybe they are in the photo! :)

Have they even learned about rational v irrational numbers at this point? The distinction here seems to assume that they have.

That third example with root 2 which is an irrational number.

“irrational” means “not a ratio” ie cannot be expressed as a fraction.
Guess they failed both maths *and* literacy.

Maybe not in all of Aotearoa, but it was played here in the Wairarapa (within the last 10 years at least). My kid still remembers the pain of being hit in the face with the dodgeball in PE class in college.
