I think Luxon has been told he'll be rolled if he doesn't resign early next year. He gets his pension, his summer holidays, the promise of a knighthood if he goes voluntarily. He will claim that he has completed his mission of putting the country back on track #nzpol

Those with object permanence going back 7 years to July/August 2018 might recall the Southern/Molyneux visit, Phil Goff's reaction, and the online reaction to Phil Goff's reaction. Smaller liberalish societies like us and Ireland are imaginary country rhetorical devices to the farrightosphere

Also the comparison to Australia is disingenuous

In Aussie they have a Mandatory Employer Contribution: By law, employers must contribute a minimum of 12% of an eligible employee's pre-tax income to an approved superannuation fund

That's paid in addition to wages and salaries
#NZPol
Who cut the $1000 Kickstarter? National
Who reduced the minimum contribution to 3%? National
Who reduced the member tax credit from $1040 to $521? National
Who then reduced the same member tax credit from $521 to $260.72? National.

Don't believe National on Kiwisaver.

Yeah - let’s just kill the economy while it’s on life support. This will be inflationary. And that’s all we need to add to our woes.
Watch: Prime Minister Christopher Luxon announces new National Party KiwiSaver policy
It is the first firm new National Party policy ahead of the election, which is still around a year away.

Farage can now be easily boxed in to a corner where his only ‘defence’ becomes: “Yes I spouted Kremlin propaganda & Putin worship but, unlike Nathan Gill, I didn’t need bribes to do it.”
It is, once again, a question of whether interviewers have the temerity to shut down his whining obfuscations.

Wassup with asset sales? Why is a wealth tax a bit meh? Quick 🧵
Glib analogy, but life in the neoliberal economy is like monopoly. You work, earn cash, and pay for things you need as you go round the board. If you earn more than you spend, you can buy an asset - some shares, a house etc... [1/n]

It’s fun to think about the surgeon who will botch your surgery 20 years from now and what he’s doing at this moment. He just ran all his homework through ChatGPT. He just read that article about vaccines and autism at the CDC website. He just watched an Instagram video about the moon landing hoax.
