I once asked a bookseller at a large indie store how many people would have to buy a book for it to get the attention of the store buyer and cause an additional order and they said: Three.
I see some book piracy discourse, and, to make a positive argument in favor of buying books, your marginal ability to influence what books get published and support the careers of writers you like is massive compared to most other forms of media.

Just noticed that the Wikipedia entry for The Trans Space Octopus Congregation for some reason says that it was published in Hungary, can someone fix that? it was published in the US

I did NOT like Cocoon! It's a puzzle adventure that looks gorgeous, but neither the puzzle nor the adventure aspects are much fun IMO... I played it on PS+, so at least it didn't cost me extra on top of the subscription, but, whyy.
Wish I played on Steam though, because I want to write a review...

i actually like microgenres so long as they are descriptive and not prescriptive. it's neat to notice little recurring themes and connections and explorations. i've proposed a few. oldest daughter horror. sensiblecore. i think i may be developing a strain i'm going to call "haunted forest preserves"
