My childhood concerns were valid after all!
A hiker in Utah’s Arches National Park became trapped in quicksand over the weekend, prompting him to be rescued after he was spotted struggling in drone footage.

Check out Madeleine's faves and add your own!
Going to craft a little 🧵 of some of my favorite reads from this year.

This. Private health insurance is NOT health care.
Yes. We must extend the ACA tax credits so that over 20 million Americans don't see a doubling in their health premiums, on average. But we must do more. We cannot remain the only major country not to guarantee health care for all as a human right.

We must pass Medicare for All.

Movie you've watched more than six times with a gif. Hard mode: no Stars (Wars nor Trek), LOTR, or Marvel, Disney Animated, or Pixar.

When an insurer makes one dollar of profit, that is one dollar that people paid them for health coverage that they did not spend to provide health coverage. By definition.

I'll say again: we are oddly selective about the government services about which we will say, they operate at a loss.

We say Amtrak and the post office "lose money" but we never say highways, the court system, the Pentagon, etc lose money
The USPS posting a NINE BILLION DOLLAR LOSS!!! sounds terrible. Certainly worse than if you said "USPS costs thirty dollars per person per year" even though that means the same thing and more accurately describes a government service

I'm sorry, but it really bothers me that the Pantone Color of the Year is...
not actually a color.
That's like a Flavor of the Year being Air.
The Sound of the Year being Silence.
The Feeling of the Year being I Have Never Known The Touch of a Woman.

Thread of the day. Possibly the year. 👇🏻
In the muppets universe do you think there is one muppet who is regarded as a dangerous conspiracy theorist for yelling about how everyone is being secretly controlled by a hand inside them

The other muppets think this is a metaphor, and he's like "no it's a literal hand inside you! Inside you all"

Just saw a LOT of vultures flying overhead. Have never seen so many at once before - literally dozens, all heading the same direction (north-west-ish).

Anyone know what this is about? I've only seen stuff like this in, like, Godzilla movies so I'm wondering...

(Sorry bad pic)🌱
