The Beatles (aka The White Album) was released on this day in 1968. Praised for its diverse range of genres, it would go on and spend 215 weeks on the Billboard 200.

What are your thoughts on this album?

Being a writer is like surfing. Always hoping to catch the perfect wave, but most of your time will be spent paddling against the tide or just floating, waiting, eyes on the horizon while you watch other people riding their highs into the sunset. But you have to love the work more than the ride.

But what if Sinners is the only film from this year that I’ve seen this year?

( I don’t see many current films…)
Without saying Sinners, name your film of the year.

Art is good.
Butterscotch Bear, so soft and sweet,
Caramel paws and gentle feet.
A warm embrace, a quiet glow,
A cozy friend to take it slow.

🐻🥰🌈

Butterscotch is a little gay bear, made by a not so little gay bear (who also happens to be this potter.)

14yo: And there's a part where it says "hey ladies, hey fellas, and the people that don't give a fuck"--

Me: CHILD, ARE YOU TALKING ABT LIMP BIZKIT

14yo: Yeah, them!

This comes a week after a SCOTUS ruling blocking lower rulings allowing trans people to update them.

This.

“Healthcare” and “health insurance” are not synonymous.

🧵
The basic problem of health insurance: if you want sick people to be able to get insurance, then the insurance product ceases to be traditional insurance, bc the insurer cannot price risk. Once you accept that sick people should get insurance, you must accept some variety of a socialized system.
Rick Scott told me his plan would be to take all of the remaining ACA subsidies and redistribute them to HSA accounts and people can then buy whatever insurance a state certifies. Basically a repeal/replace.
He denied when I asked wouldn’t that create two-tiered system where sick pay much more…
