Yeah I totally agree as far as “primitive” goes— it’s as bad as “savage” imo. And I also agree context it’s important re “hunter/gatherer.” I do worry that in the wrong context it minimizes the incredible semi-cultivation practices of indigenous cultures in N and S America in particular.

I wonder about this sometimes too b/c I also think "hunting and gathering" is kind of a colonialist/supremacist way to describe traditional cultures. Esp since we're finding out so many cultures *did* cultivate "food forests" to make gathering easier.
