I started watching Dark Shadows earlier this year. I'm almost 300 episodes in now (just before they switch to color!) and I can assure you all that Frid's performance as Barnabas is just as incredible as you've heard.
On this day in 1924, Jonathan Frid was born in Hamilton.
After beginning his acting career on CBC, he rose to fame as Barnabas Collins on Dark Shadows. His portrayal of a sympathetic vampire trying to retain his humanity was a hit with viewers. He died in 2012.

I started watching Dark Shadows earlier this year. I'm almost 300 episodes in now (just before they switch to color!) and I can assure you all that Frid's performance as Barnabas is just as incredible as you've heard.
