National Guard members who were shot in DC yesterday have been identified:
They are 20-year-old Sarah Beckstrom and 24-year-old Andrew Wolfe
Both were sworn in less than 24 hours before the shooting
And Muriel Bowser is right
Home is the only place they should have been

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday

But like most American things, it’s complicated

I want to acknowledge the brutal history that lead to this holiday, reflect on the unfairness of hunger and loneliness,

Furnando, the grey fox, getting a good drink before heading home.

Grey foxes, at least here, are very skittish, I don't often get them drinking at the water bowl. I provide clean, fresh water year round but don't feed the wildlife (so many reasons not to feed even though it sounds mean).

I'm old.

If you're not, listen to this.

Get a guitar or some drums, or a trumpet. Pick up a brush, a pencil, some clay or a welder.

Just make shit. It doesn't have to be good (eventually it will be) just make music, art or write or whatever.

It's literally never been more important.

This is why OpenAI is selling so aggressively to education at all levels—they want to create entire generations of users incapable of reading, writing and thinking without ChatGPT to hold their hands

And teachers and professors should call this out for what it actually is
To bear out this rosy projection, HSBC assumes that OpenAI will become "as ubiquitous [...] as Microsoft 365" (345mm users worldwide) while bringing in 10x the number of users (3bn).

People in the U.S. need to be paying attention to what’s happening in the U.K., because it’s going hand in hand with what is happening in the U.S., the agitators at work on both sides of the pond are working hand in hand with each other, and both have similar goals of ethnic cleansing.

It’s really funny how a generation will roll its eyes at parents who watch Fox News but doesn’t see why being immersed in Twitter is having the same effect. Lots of serious people show up on Fox News too but that shouldn’t be your primary source on the news.

US crew rates will always be higher than Canadian or European bc regardless of tax incentives or exchange rates US crews are paying off their own student loans, saving for their kids’ education and paying for health insurance & care

All costs their competitors don’t have or have significantly less

I just feel awful for the National Guard troopers caught up in this. They’re just standing around looking bored all the time, but they have been made into a deliberate symbol by the Trump admin and that may have made them a target for this gunman.
