if dems take the house but not the senate (and even if they do take the senate, tbh), they’re not gonna have much to do, they should use committee investigative powers to start lining up cases for a dem AG in 2028
Something every 2026/28 Dem should commit to is investigations of any company that did deals with Trump. A kind of forward guidance to get companies to think twice in advance of what’s coming.

It may not be a popular opinion on Bluesky, but in a weird way, it feels like the Democrats won the political argument on the government shutdown. Now Republicans are tripping over themselves to try and craft a health care bill.

A lot of people go into a class or a unit in a class utterly convinced that the topic is "useless," proceed to put absolutely zero effort into it, learn nothing as a result, and then bitch that it was useless.
This is actually a good example of why the customer model is wrong.
I wouldn't have chosen poetry writing, but UNC made me take a class. And it absolutely made me become a much better writer, with an eye to concision and an ear now trained to the rhythm of words. I'm a better historian as a result.

If you are providing me with an education that is low utility in the world then it’s a disservice. My composition class spent four weeks on poetry. I’m sorry, but that only would’ve been useful if I wanted to be a poet. I don’t need to know iambic pentameter in order to be a victim advocate.

My mom’s naturalization was a family event - dressed up, photos & lunch to celebrate.

Anyone who has participated in or attended a naturalization ceremony knows how meaningful and joyous these ceremonies tend to be. The cruelty of this is heartbreaking and enraging.
