Threatening to vote third party again, in the Year of Our Lord 2025, is a signal that you've already given up.

You're basically stating that you looked into Nietzsche's abyss and blinked.

Miss me with that bullshit.

Not sure if Wake Up Dead Man is the best Knives Out movie, but it's probably my favorite. I always love when a story centered on religion holds room for both faith and skepticism, and provides a comprehensive portrait of both the good and the evil religion can be turned to.

Correct. Every Democrat voted against confirming Hegseth.

Every Republican voted to confirm him except for Senators McConnell, Murkowski, and Collins.

It was a 50/50 vote in the Senate, with a tie-breaker by JD Vance himself.
Thing is, we DID hear about it at his confirmation hearing.

Every single senator who voted to confirm Hegseth knew he held these views about the laws of war.

They voted to confirm him anyway.
Everyone should read this terrifying thread about Hegseth’s published views wrt war crimes. It’s pretty fucking radical …. We needed to hear about this in his confirmation hearing.

i want to underline how significant i think it is that people are starting to leak already. that’s a sign, imo, that people are shifting into ass-covering mode, hoping that if they’re among the first to blow the whistle, however belatedly, they’ll get more lenient treatment.
people are starting to leak. republicans who are either planning to retire or don’t have to face voters again until after trump’s term is over are starting to talk about trump in public the way they’ve spent the last decade talking about him in private. 2006 vibes increasing.

when the people closest to the center of action - who are also the people whose futures are most dependent on trying to read the signs and divine the near-future - start acting like the goal is to minimize the damage they’ll incur by being associated with the president, that is a big sign imo

does feel like a big thing that he's dropping below 40
NEW: for the first time in his second term, President Trump has dipped below 40% approval, according to our presidential approval averages. He's experienced a sharp dip in the past month or two, mostly thanks to concerns about the economy.

Like I said, expect a lot of Repub retirements

Nehls’ newly-drawn district went for Trump by 22, but it’s got a sizable Latino population, & if what we saw w Latino voters in NJ happens elsewhere in 2026 a lot of Repub districts in the Southwest could swing hard to the Democrats

Dimon on why JPMorgan Chase is not funding WH Ballroom:
We have an issue, which is anything we do, since we do a lot of contracts with governments here and around the world, we have to be very careful how anything is perceived, and also how the next DOJ is going to deal with it.

Long COVID exists! It's functionally identical to other postviral autoimmune disorders and syndromes, which we don't know enough about and should be investigating more!

It is not "airborne AIDS" and the rates of Long COVID are decreasing over time!

In fact, just in general, Dems? Whichever 2028 candidate comes closest to promising Nuremberg Trials for the ENTIRE Trump administration and all who financially support them, WILL have the best chance of winning the primaries. Left-of-center vengeful bloodlust has been a mostly-untapped resource.
a few candidates have talked about this but any Dem planning to run in 2028 should make it explicit: the next DOJ will, in fact, go after you if you’re funding this awful ballroom, or any other pay to play deals you make with this administration

Creating a military conflict with Venezuela gives this administration a legal "hook" to invoke the Alien Enemies Act. In other words, the foreign war is being manufactured in order to facilitate court deference for its domestic mass deportation policy. It's a Stephen Miller Special.
