Then Platner will easily win the primary and be a stronger general election candidate for having done so.

All of the bitching & moaning about Mills entering the race makes me think people don't actually believe Platner is as strong a candidate as they otherwise claim.

The linear passage of time and placing events on it is a challenge for these guys.

grateful portland has risen to the challenge so far in peacefully protesting the ICE facility and that nationally we're all cheering on the frogs but I think it's important to make sure everyone is aware that the ICE goons aren't exactly being peaceful in return

The official government account for DHS appears to be run by far-right trolls deliberately trying to provoke a response by using a term openly associated with ethnic cleansing. They will attack anyone who points this out and express faux outrage at the suggestion. They know what they are doing.

If Platner can’t beat a 77-y.o. Mills he won’t beat a 73-y.o. Collins.

Any “Biden said he wouldn’t run again” claim that doesn’t include the context of January 6 & Trump’s refusal to let go/have pulled from him control of the GOP isn’t serious.

Literally nothing coming from the Pentagon, DHS, or DOJ should be considered credible unless backed up by an independent source outside of government. (This, for the record, is a huge problem!)

People in DHS are still...people—and there really are not that many people in DHS. People get tired and burnt out, especially when they're working extended and stressful shifts in constant conflict with everyone they come into contact with. It's not a sustainable strategy.

If you want something positive, I'd say that the current DHS strategy of using excessive force has been extremely counterproductive. Rather than actually detaining people, they're now spending significant time and resources dealing with hostile crowds wherever they go.
