Look! An a 5 layer onion of old school SEM’ers talking about the death of search and how everything online sucks now compared to then. This is what I fucking love about text micro-blogs! You don’t get this shit with insta!
I hypothesis that I’ve had for the last five or six years, and that I really need to actually put pen on paper but never get the time to do, is that Web 2.0 is dead and we’re going back to Web 1.0 - the death of Google is no small part of this. Everything is locked in a private chat server somewhere
this is more or less a conspiracy theory. it is parasite load and the fact that there are not websites anymore. there just more or less not any websites, and those that exist, exist solely to trick google into serving them to you.

Resistance to Trump’s D.C. crackdown is taking many forms
Residents want solutions to crime, but many who live here say aggressive federal law enforcement tactics threaten civil rights and instill a sense of fear, not safety.

Dems will have to behave in a Trumpian fashion if we're to have justice. I don't know if they have the stomach for it but we absolutely need to prosecute everyone involved with this criminal administration, add new states, pack the courts, and gerrymander the maps until the GOP is totally defeated

I also like Buck Mason's Saddle Cut (available in raw denim).

If the prices above take you aback, check Gustin. Their newly introduced "vintage straight" — a roomier, more classic cut — comes in Cone Mills denim.

Todd Shelton and Williamsburg Garment Company can also do custom

I like this HoF Game with all the random players. It makes me want a new player safety rule for the NFL. Each player can only play 4 games per 16 game season. The rosters will be 224 players deep. Managing a fantasy team will require its own Nvidia chip.

Thanks for the reminder @janemunday.bsky.social. Every summer, I repost this article DROWNING DOES NOT LOOK LIKE DROWNING. To date, I know of FOUR kids who were saved after someone who'd clicked on the link learnt how to spot actual drowning. Take time to read and pass on.

Unrelated, but it's never a bad day to learn that the U.S. acquired Diego Garcia from the UK after the latter legally excised the islands from Mauritius, lied about the islands being unpopulated, and displaced the entire population to tents on a disused runway after shooting all of their pets.
Four US strategic bombers B-52H Stratofortress, nuclear-capable, are preparing for takeoff at Diego Garcia airbase, AFP reports.

I like GOLF on tv because it’s zen and easy have the tv on without watching because I have to have the tv on or I’m not alive. This USOPEN thing is not zen or relaxing. This is making me sad.

Some thoughts about the military parade in my hometown of Washington DC today -- specifically, the route. Military parades in DC are quite rare. But when they happen, they have always begun, symbolically and geographically, at the Capitol and moved outward. 1/

Things are fucked up.
ICE is going to parks in Los Angeles and kidnapping nannies who are caring for small children

The children are witnessing these kidnappings and being held in custody until their parents are contacted

Everything about calling someone post 2020 is fucked up. The answering party doesn’t have their AirPod in, is connected to their car, can’t hear.

A phone call has become an event for anyone outside of my phone tree and needs to be scheduled.
I can think of no better endorsement of the call screening feature than a Threads sales guy saying he’s not sure if he likes it

I was the only customer in a store and Michael Stipe came in. He said something to me. I said oh hi, I’m sorry what. And he repeated it and I didn’t understand a word he said. So instead asking what again I walked out of the store.
Right folks. Feeling rather down at the moment so bringing back an oldie
