or, in the words of the Nac Mac Feegle:

“Free Men! Nae king! Nae quin! Nae laird! Nae master! We willna' be fooled again!”
Out doing errands in my little Utah town and spotted a #NoKings protester ❤️
I can! Unless I’m somewhere new/interesting to look at, then I’m also gawking. 🙂

Beating authoritarians will take all of us rowing in the directions - all of us - different colors, shapes, sex, economic background - all of us.

Let’s celebrate everyone who came out and is coming out and marching to say #NoKings.

This American is grateful. 🙏🏻🇺🇸🙌🏻
A successful protest movement requires as broad a coalition as possible.

If you’re recoiling from the support of mainstream privileged segments of society, you’re not trying to win the fight, you’re just trying to win personal praise.
Honestly, this is the biggest reason I am very pro public transit and passenger rail.

Link's ban is wrong and should be reversed.
We got some new anatomical models in today, so the equipment manager is wandering around the library showing off their new spine.

Mortal Kombat jokes were made.

SB 13 is a bill that removes local control of #Libraries from public schools across #Texas and gives politicians (not parents) the power to decide what books are or are not available to students.

“It is well known that a vital ingredient of success is not knowing that what you're attempting can't be done. A person ignorant of the possibility of failure can be a half-brick in the path of the bicycle of history.”

This is just going to depress me, isn’t it?
Meanwhile, someone is spoiling Bleak House up in here.

People think there are no Roman history emergencies, right up to the day a sitting president proposes a triumphal arch. Now suddenly everyone needs a good handle on Titus and Constantine.
Never again will I volunteer myself to be the point person at a conference. Never. Again.

We all need to get weirder, more nonsensical and fluid, and hornier, in response to the moralistic, rigid, fascistic, traditional backslide were trapped in.
i think we should bring dadaism back as a response to The Horrors. it made sense during world war one

John Brown's raid on Harper's Ferry began on October 16, 1859.
Apologies if this isn't the right way to ask you this question, @elienyc.bsky.social , but I'm very anxious to know if there's a way that bad cases can be overturned if we ever get a progressive SCOTUS. Can a future SCOTUS ever reconsider a case, say "That's fucked up," and just reverse it?
"The first obstacle to be overcome was a difference in terminology, as when researchers referred to “The finest and most refreshing beverage in the world”, their American counterparts inexplicably thought that they meant coffee, or worse, Budweiser." This article is a delight!

Why not be like the goddess Veritas (Truth) today? Wear a fancy reading hat with flames, read a physical book, and maybe also ride a horse meanwhile. #booksky #bookhistory
