Congratulations to the Secretary of Defense for ordering a hundred murders right before the president established the precedent that pardons are invalid.

Alberta is experiencing a mass influx of people from both around Canada and outside the country, the governing party authored this because they want workers, the party's base despise this because they are xenophobic and reactionary.
UCP convention-goers voted to ban permanent residents and other non-citizens from being party members or voting to nominate candidates.
Saskatchewan Party grassroots did something similar; it could have a large effect on party base makeup in some ridings.

Cause guess who are the most enthusiastic voters ever? New Canadians.

Once you have been denied the right to vote in your home country, you never take it fo granted again. #cdnpoli #abpoli #onpoli #saskpoli

Danielle Smith: "I hope people today feel a lot more confident that Canada works than they did a couple of days ago."
UCP convention crowd: LOUD BOOS
Danielle Smith tried to sell her federal-Alberta energy deal to the UCP convention crowd: tepid applause.
She told them that this proved Canada can work well for Alberta’s interests: loud boos.

This ain’t a base that wants Smith to work with a Liberal PM on a better industrial carbon tax.

Exclusive: Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth gave an order to “kill everybody” in the first strike on suspected drug boats in the Caribbean. After two men survived, the mission commander ordered a second strike to comply with Hegseth’s instructions, according to two sources.

Presumably then the billionaires will simply sell people back and forth as currency, in batches, with value determined by their AI phrenology bots on genetic stalwartness or organ extraction potential.
When no humans have jobs, who exactly is going to, you know, pay money for goods and services?
The markets are staying afloat right now on the hope that AI will destroy American workers. What a bleak thing.

The reason we got and cannot get rid of Trump is that America is a business and he is a cash cow for way way way too many people including his ostensible opponents. He’s the Beatles of news, and that is an indicator that the news itself is broken.

A reminder for those who are not aware: "remigration" is the process of deporting all non-white people from a country. It includes citizens and is, by definition, ethnic cleansing.

And to be clear: this is not fake. I just screenshot it myself.

I find it quite funny that Farkas is invoking Edmonton's name, as capital and seat of the legislature, with the intention of implying that the city in some way has political hegemony over Calgary when the UCP draws a significant portion of it's financial and political strength from Calgary.
Calgarians clearly rejected blanket rezoning. I work for Calgarians, plain and simple -- not politicians or bureaucrats in Ottawa or Edmonton. I'm pushing for a made-in-Calgary housing solution that reflects our city’s needs, respects communities, and delivers more homes people can afford. #yyccc

Reminder that all the "pardons" granted to Jan6ers whose convictions were still pending were auto-pen pardons.
Trump claims “any document” signed by Joe Biden is “hereby terminated.”

He calls out executive orders later but obviously “any document” would be much broader and include legislation.

(He can’t legally do that but, as always, we get to watch how far he can push this without repercussions)

The only reason to go kill the survivors and lie about it is because you knew the boat wasn’t carrying drugs
5/ Administration explanation to Congress seems to be a bold-face falsehood: claiming double-tap strike was to clear debris, not to kill survivors.

"That explanation has prompted frustration among some members of Congress who say they believe the Pentagon was deceptive."

First, the assumption that Canada's strained relationship with the US will dissipate, and relations will return to normal, after Trump is gone is a dangerous one. Is it implausible? No. But is it likely? It's *just as possible* American democracy doesn't recover because the problem isn't just Trump.

A prosecution by the ICC with prison sentences to follow, if the aim is to save international law.
At minimum, Hegseth, Miller, and Rubio need to be prosecuted. There are a lot more people who should be, but that’s the minimum you need to kill the idea of elite impunity in government.
