She'd have been looking down, beaming!
After dad died, almost exactly a year before mum, she got to absolutely live in M&S Foodhall! He'd been strictly Lidl, which drove her loopy! Her final year was all about posh soups, glorious ready meals & artisan bread. It was hilarious!
Although I am laughing that I can't (yet!) read @michaelhogan100.bsky.social #TheDogWalkersDetectiveAgency to Tom as a bedtime story, I am loving our current one - The Secret Garden. It was always one of my favourites as a child &, with me paraphrasing & explaining bits, he's loving it too.
My mum died five months ago & I wish that my brothers & sister & I had all gone out afterwards.
Although, in her case, to find her favourite place, we'd have all had to congregate in M&S Foodhall.....
That's a lovely thing to have done.
Sending massive hugs & support.
I would say so. I was impressed by the way he handled it.

He's the obvious, isn't he? And was, I thought, very good.

Wishing all my friends in the United States a happy National Cat Day. We don't have a National Cat Day in the UK, just a National Cat. Me.

Am absolutely loving @michaelhogan100.bsky.social ##TheDogWalkersDetectiveAgency. Funny, sweet, very page-turner-y & has a hero called Charlie!
Totally Feel Good.
Am having to read it surreptitiously so that Tom, who's getting it for Christmas, doesn't clock it & demand it as a bedtime story!
Oh my love. I so totally understand. Sending masses of love.
Yes. And I agree that it was a lifeline during Lockdown.
And I do still have some really close friends on it. I was lucky that my TL has never got too toxic - if people are unpleasant, I just block.
I'm still on X - just for the handful of lovely people who haven't moved over here. But, yes, I miss the way it used to be.
Good news.
Not much of a *traditional* holiday but definitely one to talk about for years to come!
Nooooo! Thank goodness that you didn't touch it by mistake.
Thanks. Yeah - just another appointment. And we actually were seen really quickly.
I shouldn't moan - Tom is 26 now &, at birth, was given a life expectancy of nine months. The NHS has saved him countless times.

Hurricane Melissa continues to strengthen as it approaches western Jamaica. The storm now has 185 mph winds with a minimum central pressure of 892 mb.

Melissa is one of the strongest-ever Atlantic hurricanes, and it'll rank among the most intense storms ever observed at landfall anywhere on Earth.
In yet another hospital waiting room with Tom.
Idly wondering just how many weeks of my life I have spent sitting in NHS waiting rooms!

Went back to Prunella Scales's contribution to Barkworth's "About Acting" today. Not just because it is immensely funny and charming, but for the most unfussy, practical, and profound description of a proper acting process ever captured in print.

Huge condolences to Sam and her family and friends.

I have a very bad feeling about this...
Absolutely. 😀
When we moved to this village, many years ago, my ex & I agreed that it needed to have a shop, a school, a post office (we ran a mail order business) & a decent (i.e. at least hourly, 5 days pw) bus service.
He'd grown up in a hamlet of 5 houses where there were a total of 3 children.
