🚨 Muslim Migrant Hero risked his life to disarm a gunman murdering people at Bondi Beach, and undoubtedly saved lives 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

A headline Far Right anti migrant, Islamophobe Racists will choke on so please repost to share 🙏🏼👍🏼
Ahmed al Ahmed, a Lebanese Muslim who owns a Sydney fruit shop, risked his life to disarm one of the Bondi Beach shooters.

His courage gives me hope amidst the horror and darkness. Muslims and Jews are not enemies. Our futures, in the Middle East and beyond, are intrinsically bound.

A true hero.

Bloody Hell! @eastmidsrailway.bsky.social is an absolute disgrace. Our train - 5 carriages down from 10 - is dangerously overcrowded.

Friend has just sent me her 3yo daughter's first school report. She's in the nursery class of a very academic private school. It's a good report (although a whole page of A4 for a 3yo!) but says stuff like she does most parallel play - not fully socialised - & has had 'accidents' on 2 occasions &...

Innocent people end up in our criminal courts.

Completely, terrifyingly innocent.

And all that stands between them and losing everything is a fair trial.

Politicians would do well to remember this when they tell us that justice is all about processing “criminals” swiftly.

Does anyone have any experience of long-haul stopovers in Beijing? Son & friends are flying to Tokyo on Boxing Day. Had a 12-hr-ish stopover in Beijing. Beijing-Tokyo flight now altered by airline, leaving a 24hr stopover. Possibility that that means he'll need a visa?? Does that sound likely?

As well as cycle lanes we also need phone lanes. For those walking slowly on the pavement looking at their phones, so they don't get in the way of normal people who are shopping or going to work or the pub.

Gotta love a day which starts with feeling sick with tiredness, then Tom's taxi being 20mins late, all while negotiating an 8.30am meeting & planning 2 more meetings - next one starts in 10mins time.
Still, managed that plus have a load of washing in, have wrapped 5 pressies & cleaned the bathroom

I used to be a Crisis volunteer. It was, indeed, a massive logistical undertaking. It was also where I learned to roll ciggies - decades before vapes, hundreds per day were handed out, rolled in our down time!
Ever wondered what it takes to put on Crisis at Christmas?

This year, we’re preparing to support over 5,500 people experiencing homelessness and we couldn’t do it without you. If you’re able, please give what you can today: https://bit.ly/4iSBFtd
