Dems created this mess. They reopened the gov’t, got nothing, and now GOP wants tighter abortion limits in exchange for subsidies. States that require abortion coverage are stuck because Dems started a fight they were never ready to finish.

• The claim "aliens have not taken over the White House" is not an evidence-based claim because studies have not ruled out the possibility that aliens have taken over the White House

Because apparently the way we do science now is by saying something is probably true unless definitively disproven
Trump and RFK Jr's CDC just added a page that is full of disinformation about vaccines and autism.

It's not normal for a professor to start a class discussing how they "regret" being best buddies with a child sex trafficker and asking them for advice on how to abuse their position to coerce sex from former students.

He shouldn't be there at all. This is an institutional failure.

Again, I hope that one condition of this is that if there are any preposterously offensive and dangerous in-uniform acts of insubordination like the back-turning debacle, Tisch will be removed immediately
NEW: Jessica Tisch has accepted Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani's offer to stay on as NYPD commissioner under his administration.

In an email to cops, Tisch wrote she will remain "a fierce advocate for you and for this department. You know how I operate: I don't mince words."

Got it.

he’s stepping back from all public commitments in light of his messages with Epstein, saying he is “deeply ashamed” and hopes “to rebuild trust and repair relationships.”

He will continue teaching.

NEW: We traced out a devastating outbreak of bird flu to its source: an egg farm in Ohio. Where the wind blew, the virus followed.

Within weeks, the farms downwind were about 20 times as likely to see outbreaks as those that weren’t.
What the U.S. Government Is Dismissing That Could Seed a Bird Flu Pandemic
Egg producers suspect bird flu is traveling through the air. After a disastrous Midwestern outbreak early this year, we tested that theory and found that where the wind blew, the virus followed. Vaccines could help, but the USDA hasn’t approved them.

This is why I talk about sheriffs a lot when it to comes to immigration: they decide (in most states) on whether to hold people for ICE at all!
ICE abducted Leticia Jacobo and tried to deport her, she is Native American.

Polk County Sheriff’s Office, which held her for ICE, admitted that it was a ‘clerical error’.

Her family fought through layers of bureaucracy to stop her from being disappeared.

it definitely shows why schools like Harvard hated Title IX improvements designed to actually prevent and properly respond to sexual violence.
Could argue the misogyny Summers expressed both publicly while president of Harvard and in emails to Epstein says more about the culture at our most elite institutions than any of the frontpage freakouts over academia in the past few years but hey
