Come for the quote, stay for the story about the gay Jewish woman who broke down in tears and apologized for calling a Cybertruck owner a shortdick Nazi once she gave him a chance and recognized the unseen depths of his caring, gentle soul

(a story told by the Cybertruck shortdick, ofc)
We wanted to know what it was like to own a Cybertruck. So @zoeschiffer.bsky.social went to the desert got this absolutely amazing quotes (and Michelle Groskopf took the pictures!) www.wired.com/story/owning...
quotes from cybertruck owners
Sounds like you had a good time. Maybe you should do back-to-backs more often!

No, I’m sorry. I can’t do another round of “No, the Nazis weren’t socialists.” You’re just going to have to read a book or Wikipedia article or ask your AI butler to explain it to you or wait for the sun to burn out.

Or they could just, you know, fucking pay taxes
The only reason it got 'off track' in the first place is because of your addled, unwell president. Until that changes, nothing changes. (And that won't be nearly enough on its own, but it's the necessary first step.)

Anyway, lol, eat shit America
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent sounded optimistic today about the status of negotiations with Canada.

President Donald Trump “had a very good meeting with Prime Minister Carney recently. So I think U.S.-Canada is back on track."
POLITICO Pro: Bessent says US close to trade deal with South Korea
The Treasury secretary also sounded optimistic Wednesday about the status of negotiations with three other major trading partners: Canada, Mexico and India.

Appreciate the info, I'll give it a look tonight.
Wish I could (and that was my intent, I don't give a shit about "security updates") but work says no - gotta be Win11 or I'm locked out of the system. Which is what sparked this whole slightly panicked, no-prep upgrade in the first place.
Clean install, had to use Rufus to get it on (PC doesn't support SecureBoot, TPM, etc) and the option to upgrade wasn't available.

And yes, it's an older rig, but it was perfectly good with Win10 and I'm not seeing anything in Win11 that makes me think "oh yeah that's gonna need more juice"
It does kinda suck though
Lisa McClain refers to No Kings as "the I Hate America rally"
Honestly surprised at how much worse Windows 11 runs than Windows 10 did. Any Win11 pros have ideas on how to improve program startup times, that sort of thing? Already switched off all the ViSuAl EfFeCtS that were dragging things down but it still feels sluggish.

I don't think I've seen a network TV news report more transparently full of shit since maybe 2003, right before we invaded Iraq

Arguments that did not sway the people's tribuneral.
Headline: I’m an accidental landlord - I’d be making just as much in a cash ISA
Subhead: Nicolette Booth says she would rather be investing her money in stocks and shares than in property

The dog yakked in the bed at 3 am and somehow that's not the worst untimely pile of puke I've had to deal with this week
That's a better approach, really.
It's been 10 years and I still feel a vague sense of embarrassment about this
Wow The Escapist sure is doing content these days, huh
Honestly kind of surprised amidst all the bitching about music subscription services (and sub services in general really) that nobody seems to consider the obvious answer. It's right there! Winamp! Play your goddamn music! YOUR music!
You might force me to install Windows 11

But you can't stop me from installing WINAMP

<baaaaa>
This whole goddamn experience is giving me chest pains
My pinned post has never been more on point

If you’re a man in the room and a public official says this about your female colleague, you don’t continue as if nothing happened.
Trump ignores a question from a woman reporter but says, "I just like to watch her talk. Good job. Thank you darling."

can't wait to create website where i take all the information and pictures and sentences of scientific american and post it as my own and then say "growing pains!" if my illegal actions are highlighted and then not change anything
