In related news, the Ontario government that banned speed cameras in all cities recently ("wait, why are municipal speed limits a provincial matter?" lmao they aren't, try to keep up) has a Cabinet that has racked up 23 speeding tickets over the past 3 years on cars registered to Cabinet Ministers

On May 1 last year, a vehicle registered to one of Doug Ford’s cabinet ministers blew past an automated speed camera, going 70 km/h in a 40 zone and netting a $450 fine.

Less than three weeks later, another vehicle registered to a cabinet minister was snapped going 65 km/h in a 40 zone and given a $227.50 ticket. Two months after that, another ticket, this time $110 for driving at 57 in a 40.

Those three offences in 2024 weren’t the only examples.

In fact, documents obtained by Global News using freedom of information laws reveal that, over three years, vehicles registered to Ford’s cabinet minister received more than $3,300 in fines for speeding.

The figure represents the cost of 23 tickets handed out by speed cameras, which the province said ministers or staff have since repaid.

Unless Ford can lay out a case with analytics for how past ads moved the needle on the target's attitudes and **actions**, this is like lighting $75 million on fire at this point.

Sorry if you’ve figured this out already. But pretty sure that’s a back loop only double crochet stitch symbol.
It makes the translation makes sense too the foot (base of your stitch) is for the back thread (the back loop)

I hate to say it but the majority of the country is not going to die on the hill of trans rights. We can’t protect ANY groups if we can’t win a national election, so purity tests only serve to make specific groups feel triumphant. That’s not “erasing” them; it’s long-horizon strategy.

A unique POV with lots of laughs & a magical, non-linear structure, but man is it bleak. Watching the main character Niu'er navigate death & famine while fighting to keep his cow -the last living thing grounding him to this earth- & humanity alive is really touching. Would recommend.
