It’s true! Imo it happens frequently in mostly women alt granola spaces cos sure poor public education but so many girls have negative confidence crushing experiences learning science/math. They become reasonably resentful & are drawn to pseudoscience spaces where they find loads of encouragement 🧵
Chemophobia is such a problem and it keeps getting worse. Most of the time it’s also this obviously unjustified and incorrect. We really need to teach the basic sciences in this country.

I think we would be better off if we just called abusers abusers, & stopped pathologizing people and using sanism. That language obfuscates and creates “monsters” instead of addressing root causes. Abusers all use the same play book and use the same strats on individuals and society.
