imo the easiest way to avoid chemophobia is to actually try pronouncing chemical names. You can do it!

Chemical names mostly have Greek/Latin roots & are much more consistent than English words. You can sound it out, trust in your weird 4th grade Greek/roman god phase

With a poor education you can’t pronounce/understand them & not understanding means fear of being wrong again so that fear is redirected back to Chemicals™️ cos then it’s Chemicals™️ being scary/bad & has nothing to do with you…

Then there’s the added allure of possessing “secret knowledge” that makes you feel powerful, & a more finely tuned pain towards & fear of science things not immediately understood (eg long chemical word) cos it’s scary to think that newfound power, acceptance, & knowledge could be stripped away

These abusive leaders know fear locks you in so they exploit the granola pipeline woman’s other science fears/trauma around medical issues (eg pregnancy, endometriosis) which are super easy to get cos the healthcare system is base level cruel & uncaring around women’s health and medical research.

The leaders of alt granola spaces are a lot of thin blonde ladies & sex criminal dudes who can smell trauma from a mile away and they offer the validation these women have been looking for and from the groups that they’ve been taught to seek validation from. This really makes them double down.

If cons/gop can flip that easy & there's no concern for them being against "core lib/dem party values", you have to ask how different these parties are or if the lib/dem party holds true people first values they're willing to fight for.
