This is both so much fun and completely absurd. The Information Commissioner has upheld the confidentiality of the contracts that established the Cass Review.

I will be seeking legal advice. I might actually need to crowdfund for legal costs this time. This is so getting out of hand.

For years, outlets like Newsnight gave transphobes uncritical platforms, turning prejudice into “debate”

Those same journalists now act shocked the ADF is talking to Nigel Farage.

They, and their 'gender critical' transphobic mates were the entry point normalising restriction on bodily autonomy.

The pattern is identical to the US playbook:
– Claim persecution (“we’re being silenced”)
– Weaponise “free speech” rhetoric
– Build sympathy for religious conservatives
– Then move on to abortion, contraception, assisted dying, and beyond.

The @newsagents.bsky.social framed the ADF’s growing presence in the UK as a surprising new export from the US, when they've been infiltrating the UK for YEARS!

It's willful blindness/ hypocricy by journalists who have amplified the transphobic narratives that opened the door to these groups!

White people have a kind of intra-white respectability politics about the level of racism that's considered permissible in polite company and I think a lot of polite racists are mad the gutter racists are tarnishing their good name.

Not once have I seen an explanation for why teenagers must hear things that upset them in virtue of the unspecified speech-acts being upsetting, nor have I ever seen an explanation for why teenagers will be forbidden to express displeasure with upsetting things.

1.5 years after I made the Cass Review freedom of information requests, I still don’t know whether it was an individual, a business, a body corporate, a corporate sole, an inquiry, or the Crown.

Perhaps I should just call it, in accounting terms, a going concern.

4/ The next battle is likely to take place in Parliament, and we need to ensure the draft Code is rejected. We should start spreading the message and tell MPs that the EHRC is pushing for a vote. I mean they just released a video acknowledging that our sovereign Parliament has the final say. 🤭
