And gender is a lived and embodied experience, so I'm genuinely shocked that you wouldn't think it was a key part of doing that work. The idea that "gender is the concern of effete intellectuals" is very much a capitalist control trope that you seem to have swallowed wholesale.
rebelraising.bsky.social
*sigh* which is why I didn't at any point say unique or exclusive. But carry on not being super interested in one of the key organising features of capitalism/societies in general.

What policy themed visitor trail would you do upon retirement? I would pilgrimage to visit the 100 Rishi Sunak outdoor chess sets around the country. I genuinely think it would be one of those fun random things that would take me to places I’d never otherwise go to
rebelraising.bsky.social
Yes, I do think it's that - it's being told you *should* have power and autonomy, and then not having it. So we need to add "and the patriarchy" into the conversation, rather than making it invisible by not even saying "but this is a mostly male phenomenon".
rebelraising.bsky.social
So why would men feel less able to effect change in their own lives than women when that's objectively not the case?

*sense of entitlement
rebelraising.bsky.social
Then why is it usually men rather than the more actually disempowered gender? Unless you mean "sender of entitlement denied", which isn't the same thing.
rebelraising.bsky.social
Fuck yeah, being a queer person listening to straight "allies" going on about "they're born that way they can't help it" is actually one reason I asked and one reason I think self declaring as an ally should be banned.
rebelraising.bsky.social
Honest question: on the principle of "take out your own trash", should cis people who aspire to be allies accept the invites? I'm inclined to say not, but interested in your take.

Akin to the majority who think they are are more than averagely supportive of migrants: that's the difference between who's heard and what most people think. And that's what causes a rightward drift.
rebelraising.bsky.social
Because I don't agree with you that "people over 30 [or whatever] are transphobic and we should write them off as potential allies". People are, however, starved of the opportunity to learn that plenty of others also aren't transphobic and they aren't alone and weird and can and should speak up.

I'm 49 and I work in a care home with people over 80. My thinking is based on this and on reading opinion polling.

I mean, it was legacy chain stores financialising their assets by selling buildings to private equity in the first place. They didn't have to do that, but they pretty much all did and crashed themselves, leaving this blasted heath.

Someone needs to investigate why right wing white men can't stop yelling "penis" particularly at women and gay men in public, and whether it's any different from the reasons they've always talked about and displayed their genitals. Filthy pervs trying to intimidate and assert dominance.

Solidarity with all trans and intersex people having their existence debated every time a tv host hasn't done their prep and can't think of any more questions

Interested to know what Sultana thinks the UK's Green parties' policies are on these things. And please also remember: there is no party here. Your Party remains a mailing list run by a group of unaffiliated MPs.

Great discussion at TWT on how the left must unite — Your Party and the Greens — to keep Farage out of Downing Street.

But unity isn’t uniformity. Your Party will be truly anti-imperialist: no diplomatic ties with a genocidal, apartheid Israeli state and no greenwashing NATO.

And that many media outlets used his photograph because homophobia made them associate the gay man with this kind of crime rather than the "credible rock" straight man.

Stop judging public opinion by who gets platformed on mainstream media. Most people either are fine with trans people getting on with their lives or don't care either way. Zack here is giving a plain clear answer and moving the fuck on.

Btw did anyone else catch a 6music newsreader yesterday pronouncing Ardesier as ar-dess-ee-ay? Specifically in the context of it being in Scotland.

This sort of coroner's report over most other kinds of healthcare would be media headlines and top line questions at health question time in parliament. Closure of a specific service because of a specific much criticised report directly contributed to a child's suicide.

Except that the real one is of a white woman. This is fake because she's standing and being politely cuffed, not thrown on the ground and roughed up by half a dozen large men.

Anyone who tells us that arts and humanities are frivolous wants to control our stories. It's as simple as that.
