I've been saying for the better part of a year that Trump is on a mission to decriminalize corruption. To make it the legal equivalent of jaywalking.

I feel that more strongly now than I ever had.
Trump announces a pardon of Henry Cuellar: "I am hereby announcing my full and unconditional PARDON of beloved Texas Congressman Henry Cuellar, and Imelda. Henry, I don’t know you, but you can sleep well tonight — Your nightmare is finally over!"

Agents in Key Largo, Florida ripped this woman wearing medical scrubs out of her car as she screamed she is a US citizen. Agents cuffed her and put her in one of their cars.

She was eventually let go, per David Goodhue of the Miami Herald, who also took this footage:

NEW: North Carolina prison officials, this summer, raised the price of items that incarcerated people can buy.

The prices are already way marked-up; & incarcerated people make a tiny fraction of minimum wage if they work.

An incarcerated reporter explains what's happening, & why it matters:

Statehood for D.C. is an ethical obligation at this point, required to protect the rights of our residents to govern ourselves against such out-of-state troops being sent to patrol our city.
NEW: Republican-led states, in a new filing at the D.C. Circuit, say D.C. residents are irrelevant, D.C. belongs to everyone else. storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.us...

The filing is led by the South Carolina and West Virginia attorneys general. Both states sent troops to DC.

Um.

Together with the whole disobeying court orders to not to traffic people and the extrajudicial boat incerations, the Reich stuff is getting extremely literal.
President Trump unleashed a xenophobic tirade against Somali immigrants on Tuesday during a publicly broadcast cabinet meeting, calling them “garbage” he does not want in the U.S. as he sought to refocus public attention on his anti-immigration rhetoric.

strong pelvic floor, no pelvic ceiling
I really don't like to criticize Democrats at a time like this, but "Strong Floor, No Ceiling" is just... structurally unsound.

And it's a reminder that we can't be DC Democrats to be the messengers who get us out of this. We need to start thinking about 2028 instead—for multiple reasons.
Democrats’ New Slogan Is a Donor-Class Disaster
It’s time to start the 2028 primary and step over this donor-coddling nonsense.

The fact that a *healthcare company* expects a woman who just delivered a baby at TWENTY-SIX WEEKS to work from the L&D ward on her laptop is a great illustration of why we have such shit maternal and infant mortality.

These people are cruel AND crazy.

It seems ... dumb? Ill-advised? Unserious? To buy a doc series about a convicted abuser from ... another notoriously abusive misogynist who has been more successful at evading the law.

But maybe I'm nuts.

"when adjusted for inflation, College Board data shows that the average, inflation-adjusted cost of public four-year college tuition for in-state students has doubled since 1995. Tuition at private, four-year colleges is up 75% over the same period."
Poll: In a dramatic shift, Americans no longer see four-year college degrees as worth the cost
The latest NBC News poll shows two-thirds of registered voters down on the value proposition of a degree. A majority said degrees were worth the cost a dozen years ago.
