The story told here--one where anecdata suggests agency and autonomy have run amok and nameless activists are to blame--certainly rhymes with the NYT's disastrous panic about trans kids. Then you realize it's literally being written by the same author.
Autism rates have increased in recent decades, but the reasons are more complicated than what Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has presented. Hear more on today's episode of "The Daily." nyti.ms/480eqtm

Just anecdata, but I have one K-12 classmate who's an anti-vaccine nurse and she works for a company that sends nurses to your house to give you an IV drip full of whatever, for your hangovers, etc.
I'm quote tweeting not as a dunk, but there's an influencer who got offered a free IV drip and as a result has been dealing with the flesh eating bacteria for years now.

A lot of these medi-spas are not well regulated and opening your arm to them has real infection risks.
Both of my siblings are proponents of the IV drip for general health which feels like… too much? My sister just had one to recover from jet lag. Am I in denial and possibly because I need an IV drip?

Definitely fair, but also my anecdata in driving around rural Maryland is that there’s a bit fewer Trump signs and the occasional “fuck Trump” (not in those words exactly) sign. Not the absolute numbers but the movement.

Anecdata: economy sucks
Hard data: Millennials are in our 40s and the avg first time buyer is 40, it's fine
Harder data: So many Millennials that the average can be brought down by a smaller proportion of us, it's bad
Hardest data: Avg first time buyer age in 1981 was 28
Diamond data: economy sucks
i am not quote posting that brian buttler thread/link but i am praying to all available deities that the financially secure media personalities among us are not about to start another round of “actually the economy is great, look at this chart i like.”

Appreciate the anecdata. :). Here's the figure if you want to be the sociological killjoy who brings receipts. I call the trend "frontier chic" and I'm really hoping it catches on. lol

That's anecdata, we'd need to shoot a lot more Kennedies to get anything statistically useful and I think we absolutely should, because science is important and they're all terrible people
November 26, 2025 at 11:11 AM
The “I don’t believe the science” crowd I don’t get at all.

Then what do you believe?

Well this other doctor made a study. So you DO believe in studies.

No I don’t. But there was this guy, or this case online, that said they saw it.

Ok. So you believe in single uncorrborated anecdata but not

My anecdata suggests men are MUCH more likely to go vasovagal in response to injections etc. I should look and see if it's actually been properly studied.
November 24, 2025 at 8:30 PM
I got double vaxxed yesterday and I will add to the anecdata that I did not have any adverse reactions, aside from a bit of soreness at the injection site

Póki co nie bardzo. Anecdata. Sąsiad po 70, Kościół itd., ale głosuje na PO, zapytał mnie co z tymi gejami. No to tłumaczę. On na to "Podatki płacą? Bo jak płacą to płacą też za bycie małżeństwem". Spodobała mi się ta logika.

Can confirm relative decrease in signage in rural MD anecdata. Still saw a handful but the large obnoxious signs were noticeably less prevalent.

Turkey is close to the same price as it was in 1950, by this anecdata

Honestly the clients we're working with rn who have a there there are having stupid easy raises. Anecdata and all that, but we're hitting the "institutional money is spooked and getting into long term plays in HC and CDD adjacent" stuff in my experience.

Totally agree that data would be a very welcome improvement on anecdata. However, this latest anecdote may fit in with a broader trend in the anecdata, namely that a non-up-and-coming building in an up-and-coming neighborhood is the place to be if you want your rent to be stable.

remember when we got those revisions that showed that 2024 was actually kinda shit for job growth (and negative for tech)? and there was just like a murmuring 8 hours of discourse on it? no reflection on the months of "my latest breaking government figures beat your anecdata" turf wars?

Anecdata - tego lata dwa nowe gniazda pojawiły się w promieniu 500 metrów od mojego domu.

Yet more anecdata for the COVID/antihistamine preventative link: just ran the 1-week-after-travel RT-LAMP test, and I do not have COVID! And I was a lot less paranoid about perfect masking this time: we even ate inside a restaurant (for the first time since the summer of '21!)

Additional anecdata about doing decongestive exercises for my circulation:

My PT warned me it would make me pee a lot. She is correct.

What I was not expecting was how much it helps my weird inflammatory bladder problems*

(*possible interstitial cystitis, definitely MCAS)

#NEISvoid
And because every fucking thing apparently gets to be connected to my wonky connective tissue

(And POTS)

(And immune disorder)

A PSA that it's actually very common for lipedema to co-occur with the EDS, POTS, and MCAS

And complicate treatment like *checks notes* compression socks

Predominantly male I'll give you; my anecdata explains why "how it looks at game stores and cons" isn't a very reliable measure, though (hella hostile locations)

Since July—when those congressmen started the “bipartisan discharge petition”—I’ve asked folks why anyone thinks Trump’ll ever sign it?

Almost no one I asked* knew he’d have to…

So who benefits from this exploitative performance? & who does it predictably harm?

So anecdata suggests the divisions on this site mirror the party divisions outside of it, this time

Since we're relying on DoorDash anecdata now, I'd like to report that I just paid $7 for a 20oz bottle of Hidden Valley Ranch.

I’d like to take your word over the word of Dr. Ricardo Duchesne, who has observational anecdata demonstrating that American beef cattle prefer minders with Northern European genetic markers, but I’m afraid I’m going to need a 3rd expert to break the tie.

A slightly different thing but similar. telling wasps to fuck off really does seem to work in my experience. Anecdata!
