Being asexual is always a trip because when I read books with characters who are very obviously allosexual, I'm like, "Is this attraction underbaked or do people actually get sexually attracted to people over nothing??"

'Demisexual' is a label I use that I've been thinking about a lot. Modern conceptions of sex have stripped so much romance and intimacy from it that I wonder if demi is really more the norm than 'Allosexual'! That feels more like a way we're told to view sex than a way that comes naturally.

I've never been in a fandom where people would really talk that much about these things. It would only be the occasional person with the occasional headcanon. But alloro and allosexual were almost always presumed in all of them.

I truly despise the term allosexual I know that saying this is going to make random people out there probably write me off as "aphobic" or whatever the fuck but it must be said. I hate that fucking term

When I was reading all of those trans biographies, so many allosexual trans women talked about how thinking it might be a fetish kept them in the closet for decades, and it broke my heart. As demi, it never even occured to me that this was an anxiety someone else might have =(

I feel like being both trans and ace blows peoples’ minds sometimes. The average person will sometimes just see being transgender as something inherently sexual, sometimes without even realizing it! My bottom dysphoria exists and it’s not really sexual at all for me, it’s just body dysphoria.

I'm not sex-averse or sex-repulsed or anything, and maybe I'm just greatly underestimating what being allosexual is like, but if you're cis and allo, sit through a consult for bottom surgery or even just the electrolysis time/cost/pain and tell me you'd do that for sex alone.

Well, taking explicitly sexless couples/family units and changing sexual ones is taking away a form of relationship that a lot of asexuals actually have and making them allosexual. And people who don't get to see those kinds of relationships very much aren't going to be happy they were expendable.

Of course I’m not really sure how allosexual people engage with sex scenes. Their eyes pop out of their head and they shout “Awooga!” I think.
I am tempted to write a thing about how it feels to engage with sex scenes as someone with my flavor of ace-ness (it’s more complicated than you think!) but I legitimately don’t know if it’s worth my time.

As far as experience goes, she had a girlfriend in her teenage years who was very allosexual and had a decent amount of experience prior to dating Ethera, so she imparted all the more specific details onto Ethera.

As someone who is abstinent by choice, I honestly feel like I should get on the religious grift just to go after all the traditional ladies who go after child free women who are allosexual. Because they’re calling them hedonistic and selfish, but is it not hedonistic to have sex for pleasure?
