The Pennant-winged Nightjar is an unbelievable bird and the inspiration for tonight's gryphon. It would be amazing to see one of these African birds someday.

Well, I kinda assumed everyone had Friday off for the holiday, but I got bad medical news from the IVIG clinic a few hours ago, and I think I'm gonna have to do a GoFundMe to get through the year alive and not homeless, so please bear with me while I figure this out.

I'd forgotten how fun it is to write Stripes and her motmots.
I think having four motmot gryphons follow me around for a month as bodyguards would fix a lot of problems... or at least replace them with more interesting dilemmas.

A friend of mine lost someone close to him recently, and it has me thinking about portrayal of grief. It's never as simple as some media tries to make it. It's tangled and confused, somber sometimes but sharp and bright others. It's easier to portray when you're not experiencing it directly.

I was so busy being happy Glenn could go spend time with his family for Thanksgiving and getting him ready to travel that I forgot it's just me here today and didn't make plans with friends.

OK, so Japan does not have hummingbirds, but it has something that fits the same ecological niche, is about the size as one of the smaller hummingbird species, and even looks and moves kind of like a hummingbird.

Hummingbird moths are really cool and pretty! :3 Their wings also beat like hummingbirds which is why they call them that on top of helping germinate the nectar. They are Diurnal I believe
