Another oldie but goodie. This was for a client project, a limited edition craft beer label design that was ultimately silkscreened in light grey on black powder coated glass bottles. I had never drawn skeletons and I got immediately hooked on all the fun details!

It’s always a relief to see that my crude initial sketches are perfectly “normal” when I see other artists do the same. Thanks for sharing!! A sketch like this is really all I need sometimes to get the point across to myself. Almost like drawing what a dream looks like.

Ugggh, I knew at 6 years old it wasn’t going to be happening for me. I’d get so infuriated when folks would insist they knew what was in my head better than I did. Invalidation was kind of a key element of growing up though, so, kinda fit the theme. LOL

Ugh. I’d say have fun but…also, I’ll be like three years late with mine! LOL For whatever reason we don’t start here till 50. My dad’s always had precancerous polyps and everything. Apparently have to find the magic words to get me booked “early.” Seems nuts, with how early people get colon cancer.

Happy…whatever day it is today! Tuesday? Seriously, they all blur into each other these days. I’ve been having fun toying with some toony styled dragons and critters. Pardon my rough mess with Procreate, I’m still adjusting to the slipperiness of my Apple Pencil and iPad.

Oh hell yeah! Grew up in northwestern Ontario—tiny town on Lake Superior surrounded by forest—and just the vast woodland itself is creepy enough around there. Don’t think I’ve ever been anywhere else in the country that’s half as eerie and unsettling. Kinda place that feels rife with ancient dread.
