Thanks!

Yeah the death of grandmother hit me harder than I thought it would. And rainbow crates books have honestly helped so much. Reading queer romance and queer joy has sort of jumper cabled my brain again.

You're welcome! I stumbled on this term a few days ago myself and was like HUH so THAT'S what that is. I love quiet horror.

And i shall promptly be adding that to my tbr. I love creeping unease. Its why I read and watch horror.

When people ask me what I think about using AI in writing I’m going to send them this screenshot
A screenshot of a post that reads David Simon, creator of *The Wire*, being interviewed by Ari Shapiro, NPR

And then a screenshot of a conversation that goes like this:

SHAPIRO: OK, so you've spent your career creating television without Al, and I could imagine today you thinking, boy, I wish I had had that tool to solve those thorny problems...
SIMON: What?
SHAPIRO: ...Or saying...
SIMON: You imagine that?
SHAPIRO: ...Boy, if that had existed, it would have screwed me over.
SIMON: I don't think Al can remotely challenge what writers do at a fundamentally creative level.
SHAPIRO: But if you're trying to transition from scene five to scene six, and you're stuck with that transition, you could imagine plugging that portion of the script into an Al and say, give me 10 ideas for how to transition this.
SIMON: I'd rather put a gun in my mouth.

Bully them so hard them and their supporters shut up. You cannot debate these people into changing their mind. There is no hearing them out.

Start isolating them and outing them. Plaster their faces everywhere and ban them from stores. Dox them make it impossible for them to know peace.

Good people need to start outing their ICE family members, neighbors, and community members.

They need to be made into pariahs in the places decent Americans gather.

If you can you should…

if you can’t don’t block the generosity of others

Giving is how we get through
chantalalive.blacksky.app
If you're comfortable, & you have everything you need taken care of with a little extra, you don't have to give to mutual aid, but why wouldn't you? The hoarding mindset is capitalist. You can easily be part of the community that supports real life vulnerable folks. We're all we got. You gon learn.

I've tried both. The first novel I ever finished i outlined every little thing. From general to every part to eCh chapter. It went okay. But it lacked a lot of whimsy.

Ive done full on pantsing and the ADHD tends to take over and make things very weird.

So now im a plantser.

Planners and Pantsers. Have you ever tried the opposite approach? Planners, have you ever just writtem with no plan? What happened. Pantsers, have you ever tried outlining? What happened?

Was there anything you kept from this experiment.

I switched from pantser to planner.

This Tumblr user summarizes something I've been feeling/doing lately. Against everything going on, it somehow feels helpful.
User homoquartz writes: as long as you smile and nod, people are satisfied. it’s just to show that you are nice and there with good intentions. we’re small in a big world and have to rely on other people to be decent to us. so we do our little human dance to each other to say, “i’m not here to hurt you. here’s something we have in common, like the weather or sports or itchy sweaters, so we both know we’re on the same team. we both agree on a basic fact, like that it is rainy or that being itchy is uncomfortable, and this proves we can get along. i’m being light-hearted and non-threatening right now."
Small talk isn't to get to know a person. It's just a greeting to affirm you're buddies in the universe. I am motivated by wanting the other person to know I am friendly, so I have gotten pretty decent at small tall when I used to hate it.
