Shipping tropes assigned to them are "Friends to Lovers", "Slow Burn", "Protective", "Sun/Moon dynamic", and "Light/Darkness dynamic." G'raha's main pet names for Ethera are "My love", "My light", "Sigun-m or My Sigun", and "Adventurer" when he's teasing her. Ethera's pet names for G'raha are "Raha", "Ul-m or My Ul". X'mhati was a member of the Crimson Duelists, so I guess "soldier" is the closest thing for him. He specifically fought Theodoric's forces to defend innocents in Gyr Abania. He and Pahja met when the Duelists were escorting a caravan of refugees across the border to the Shroud.

If she needs to, she can run very fast. She was a hunter most of her life, and while most of hunting requires one to stay still, she was also quite good at chasing down her prey if it started to run.

She hasn't had to run that fast after leaving home so she may have gotten a little rusty.

Day 1: First Meeting

G'raha was intrigued with Ethera nearly from the drop, but had no idea how to express it. Ethera on the other hand just thought he was strange.

Two moments overlap one another. The first is G'raha witnessing Ethera for the first time in the Shroud and being surprised she isn't what he thought she was. Ethera meanwhile is concerned with the voice speaking to her. The other moment is Ethera finally meeting G'raha properly as he puts on a lot of pomp and circumstance to try and impress her and seem "cool", but she just thinks he's weird.

Day 2: Hurt/Comfort

The weight of being a hero is heavy indeed.

There's too much to say on this one, so I've written a mini fic in the alt text. This is technically the first fic I've published in nearly 20 years so please be gentle.

The mantle of hero leaves little room for weakness but as Ethera watched her once-lost friend return to her once more, she felt the shell encasing her heart begin to shatter. The moment his eyes opened and he spoke, her guard disintegrated.  She had gotten her best friend back only to not act upon it, she saved a world on the precipice all while dissociating from her emotions. She had to watch her best friend suffer again and again, and she in turn hurt herself for him again and again, and then he died. She didn't have time to mourn, she had to return to the Source lest the rest of their party likewise perish. But now, after everything they went through, he's back. On the Source. With her. Her resolve is drowned by the tsunami of emotions crashing through her body. She throws herself at him and crumbles. Unable to stop her tears from flowing, her wailing reverberates through the corridors of Syrcus Tower, her hands claw desperately at his clothing as if he may turn to dust and disappear again at any moment, or she may be forced to face the bitter reality that this is all a dream. Her friend sat stunned, processing what's happening. She had never hugged him before, in fact he can't recall if he’d ever seen her cry. The weight of this moment washes over him as he understands what it means to numb yourself for the sake of a mission. Ethera was being crashed back into a reality where both had to hold back SO MUCH for the sake of their respective missions. But here in these ancient crystalline halls, locked away from any dangers or prying eyes, is their sanctuary.  He envelops her in his arms as much as he can, holding her tightly, silently reassuring her that he is here, they are alive, and somehow—despite all the odds—they won. They can process what this means to them later. For the time being they are each other's rock, grounding them to reality, keeping the other safe as everything they had been hoarding inside of their souls spills out and fills the tower.

X'mhati never got a chance to meet Ethera before he died, but in theory if he had he would have loved her with all his heart, and Ethera may have ended up a bit of a daddy's girl. As someone who lived and died protecting others, he would be incredibly proud of her accomplishments.

Ethera's mother, Pahja, is *exceptionally* proud of her daughter. While she of course worries from time to time, her belief in her daughter's strength has drowned out all of her doubts time and time again. She wants Ethera to be happy, and find fulfillment in her life.
