I never didn’t not like them but redoing MotR has reminded me I really really like these quests and I think it’s helped by a wol that sincerely believes in the twelve in a positive way of course but also damn original content specific to 14 is so nice 😭

Some of my thoughts on Miqo'te observances of the solstice from a couple years ago, via the birdsite:
The longest night is probably significant for mooncats too, though in different ways (maybe they keep a similar vigil on the *summer* solstice instead). (I'm assuming there *is* a solstice/equinox on Etheirys, but who even knows) Maybe it's a time for joyous celebration, or for quiet intimacy with the people you're closest to. I could see it going either way for both flavors of Miqo'te and assume there's plenty of variation between tribes. Miqo'te are hunters; it seems to be an important part of their cultural identity, which I think would make them inclined toward observing the passage of the seasons. Maybe the winter months are for repairing bows and fletching arrows, or contests of skill to keep in practice. B'alith is from a desert region though, which might not go through the same fallow period that, say, Keepers in the Shroud would experience. If Thanalan is similar in climate to North Africa there might be winter rains/floods instead, which could be tied to fertility traditions.

The whispers are louder now. Closer. Distinct and...familiar? He opens his eyes again, searching. At first glance, he remains alone. The aether current still courses through the air before him and sunlight illuminates the vibrant colors of the Wall. At the base of the cliffs, the village does not stir with so much as a single soul. So why, then, does he not feel alone? A frown tugs at his lips, and he glances over his shoulder at the Mark of the Warden. No one there, either. No one but him and the fireflies still dancing around the stone, blissfully unaware of his predicament. Even with this confirmation, still the echoes ring in his ears. He lays them flat upon his head as if to drown them out, but it does nothing. Where are the whispers telling him to go back to? The village? Wasn’t that all he’d ever wanted, once upon a time? Temptation pulls at the core of him, tugging him towards the precipice and the aether current beyond. An unspoken promise of rest settles over him, though he knows not who or what makes that promise. It lures him all the same—his journey has tried him time and again, made him struggle through pain and fear and anguish and loss. He is so very tired... Go back, sunshine. His eyes snap open wide. He hadn’t even realized he’d let them droop half-closed, hadn’t realized he’d taken a step closer to the edge. The thrall of the current releases him and he whirls around to fully face the Mark of the Warden. No one’s there but him and the fireflies.
