Struggling to survive day to day.
To get by in this horrible dystopia, I like horror books and movies, video games, and wondering what I'd change if I could have my consciousness sent back to a younger version of myself.
Reporters needs to get Trump repeatedly on the record that the border is totally secure and he's deported pretty much all of the dangerous immigrants (shouldn't be hard to get him to accept accomplishments) and then say how since he's done such a good job, there's no reason to use ICE at the polls.

Is there a point where Bezos just buys a new newspaper because all he really cares about is using historic clout to smuggle his views and he's eventually going to destroy all of WaPo's?

Jesus, this reminds me of the person who argued with me, completely sincerely, both that government shouldn't use tax dollars to help people because it removes the dignity/morality of choosing to help and also that abortion should be illegal. I guess THAT moral choice can be made for people.
Speaking on behalf of a religion that actively sought to spread itself to every country in the world whether invited or not, Speaker Johnson would like to share with you the Biblical case for strong borders.

It must really suck being a native American looking at the two sides in the debate saying either:
A) Immigration is great and America is great because of all the people who have moved here from elsewhere
or
B) America should just be for white people

very excited to have my response included in the latest Boston Review forum against Democratic moderation! here it is, my best argument for why Dems shouldn't "moderate" on transgender rights & LGBTQ issues more generally (as they are inextricably linked): www.bostonreview.net/forum/how-no...
Trans rights aren’t tanking the Democrats.

It never ceases to amaze me that there are people in my life who have determined that something they want is probably too difficult for them to ever have so they never try. Then I say, "I think the difficulty will be worth it for what they get" and try, and it's super fucking easy.

When Sinners over performed its first weekend, we got articles citing how it had a long way to be profitable and giving all sorts of caveats.

When Melania didn't bomb as much as expected, it's an amazing hit pulling in atypical demographics!
The First Lady’s documentary overperformed at the box office thanks to older women in conservative cities — some of whom even dressed up for the occasion.

ICE activity has not noticeably tapered off yet here and in fact this week they seem to be focused on terrorizing kids at bus stops and schools.
yes, there are no real signs of any big change in DHS activity here yet. In Chicago there really was after Bovino left and they basically ended "Midway Blitz" not so here so far.
I don’t know, declaring victory in MN seems premature. They’re still arresting people and brutalizing the community. The changes appear—so far—to be cosmetic

"Fight Against Fed Overreach" is a great term, bc the acronym doesn't feel forced at all.

And worth remembering that by ousting/not electing reformers, places like Chicago and LA opted for DAs who would not stand up against fed law enforcement like this.

A cost of our gross misframing of reform.
