I'll try to make this the last time I tout my little project, but I wrote about our "Crockpot & Criterion" for the @kansascity.com opinion newsletter:

What we’re doing
Crockpot & Criterion: We’re told there’s an epidemic of loneliness in the country, so my wife and I are doing our bit to provide a cure: Every Monday night, we have a few friends over for dinner and a movie from the hoity-toity Criterion Channel streaming service. (Or not so hoity-toity: Last week we watched “Encounters of the Spooky Kind,” a 1980 kung fu vampire flick from Hong Kong.) Making community doesn’t have to be so difficult: Just figure out something you like to do and invite one other person to do it with you.

Yes, I’m cranky, a storm is coming, but Jesus Christ why do I have to click “reader mode” to even have a hope of reading anything online these days? If you publish something you want people to read, why do you also cover it with 25 ads so they can’t actually read it?

One very undersung thing about Godfather III: There's a scene where Michael is telling her he's done - it's an echo of the final scene in the first movie - but gets interrupted by henchmen. They show her watching this through the doorway ... and this time she walks out of the frame.

Trump’s immigration crackdown is risking higher food prices for Americans, according to the Trump admin itself.  DOL warned in an obscure document last week that “near total cessation of the inflow of illegal aliens” is threatening “stability of domestic food production and prices for US consumers.”
