Weaver House, the yarn shop and weaving school that has drawn fiber arts enthusiasts from around the world, announced it will shut its doors for good in December.

Founder Rachel Snack hopes that a weaving or teaching enthusiast might buy these Macomber looms and start their own weaving school.

Prior to Monday’s home opener, the Flyers paid tribute to legendary goaltender Bernie Parent, who died on Sept. 21 at age 80.

In lieu of the traditional moment of silence, the Flyers opted to honor Parent with a round of applause.

Cody Balmer, the man accused of setting the governor’s mansion ablaze in an attempt on Gov. Josh Shapiro’s life this spring, pleaded guilty to attempted homicide and related crimes on Tuesday morning.

Every day at noon, no matter how busy, Johny Merida Aguilar left his construction job and hurried to his 5-year-old son's school to feed him. His son has brain cancer and generally only accepts food from his father.

Merida Aguilar was arrested by ICE in September and faces deportation to Bolivia.
