Registration has opened for ICRA 2026 and I’m so excited! Ain’t no party like a RAS party!

Dad’s accompanying me, so while I’m at the conference, he’ll be popping around Vienna. We’re then going to spend a few days in Salzburg and Munich.

I think humanities are similar to Romance in that they’re cash-cows for universities since they take less funding to run and they underwrite more expensive departments.
The STEM and right-wing contempt for the humanities has so warped the public discourse that the Discourse is inventing criticism against from first principles.

I’m tired.
That gay hockey show has launched a complete mass cultural exercise in close reading/re-reading, and I love it. This might be my favorite post ever suggested to me on a social media network. “Look at this minor scene in a work of narrative? Seems insignificant??? How does it fit? What do u think???”

Apparently right wing antisemites are obsessed with the word goy now and in case no one has ever told you this it literally just means “nation”

Apparently the Nespresso maker I got uses just enough electricity to throw the switch in my home office’s breaker when my computer is also on. So if I want coffee, I have to put my computer asleep & turn the light off or shlep all the way to the kitchen and use my drip coffee maker.

What The Hell Is Going On, a thread:

I’ve seen some thinkpieces and posts about Portland protests that fail to understand the long-term hyperspecificity of Portland culture/humor, and frame it as a sort of shitposting meme-pilled ironic thing. Which is wrong.

So I’m gonna give you my breakdown.

Protip: if your coworker works entirely remotely, and you schedule a meeting with them, you need to *explicitly specific* if it's in person.
