I'll give you the short version: they sponsored & supported the most influential AIDS denialist group of the 2000's, resulting in national policies in South Africa that caused an estimated 330,000 deaths there.

They have never apologized or acknowledged what they did.

I feel comfortable and secure in my belief that democratic leadership should not be pulling their slogans from venture capitalists. That this, at minimum, is a significant indictment of who they are listening and talking to. It’s not that complicated.
No value, no villain, no vision. Sounds like the tagline for the earnings call of a collapsing appliance retailer

still gagging (derogatory) over "strong floor no ceiling" but it does check some boxes

✔️not catchy at all
✔️means little to nothing
✔️borrowed/plagiarized
✔️from a venture capitalist!
✔️immediately and ruthlessly mocked

ya i can see why they're trying this

Playing an Artificer in DND for the first time and I don't think I've played another class that has such a drastic power bump from level 2 to 3. Yeah every class chooses their subclass at 3 but my Artificer went from an armor class of 16->21 with improved damage output in a single level

2025: You debase yourself on 80 different video podcasts. “Smellboy” has 19 million followers so you smell strangers shoes with him on the street. You are an A-list star. Your film grosses $19,000.

🚨 NEW EPISODE ALERT!🚨

This week we're joined by @lucyxiv.boontavista.com to talk about the Rob Reiner flop, North! Watching a "precocious" Elijah Wood go on a world tour of ethnic stereotypes wasn't just fun, it also led Greg to have some revelations about himself, so you don't want to miss it!

I play a game when I go to a bookstore: 'judge a book by its cover,' where I choose a book based PURELY on the front cover, not even back cover synopsis. I've found some unexpectedly delightful reads and authors that way.
The death of browsing is part of the reason art is the way it is now. Our opinions are largely fed to us by algorithms. Spending a spare 15 minutes wandering around a bookstore or comic shop or video rental place was how you found stuff you wouldn't ordinarily pick up and thereby expanded your taste
Bookselling is like the most "people go to the store and buy what looks cool to them without a particular agenda" type business left, and your purchases have a huge influence on what is ordered, what is displayed, and what is recommended.
