I finally did it! I convinced the 8 yr-old to watch the original Toxic Avenger movie with me! I had to bribe him with changing the parental controls on his switch to allow T For Teen games, but a win is a win.

I could be wrong but I don't think it's possible to recapture something like THE MUMMY today. If they made it just as terrible everyone would hate it, if they made it actually good it wouldn't feel the same. Ask Roland Emmerich and Dean Devlin. Shitty '90s blockbusters exist in their own bubble.

Watched Scorsese’s After Hours the other night, then watched the interview with him about the film. He made it during a “cold” period, after his last couple of movies had underperformed, so he returned to doing something scrappy just for the love of movies. It’s gotta be one of his most underrated
