It was easy to hear Celine's accent in her singing voice, even if you couldn't place it as "French"

Slowing down and elongating sounds makes accents disappear. It’s hard to sing with an accent. If you hear an accent in a song the person is either faking it or intentionally exaggerating it.
That’s why it took us so long to realize Celine Dion spoke French.

This is super interesting!!
I watched a video on this once. It’s bc they’re singing American styles of music, created in America. Something about how using those pronunciations works best for their voices in these styles.
