The same thing that makes these rich assholes so utterly miserable inside.

When you have so much money you can afford everything reality has to offer, you have to look somewhere else for fulfillment.
Always have been. I'm not sure exactly what it is about money that makes someone completely lose touch with reality.

We need to understand that character assassination is a tool of the carceral state and that social media thrives on it. The basic idea that people who are oppressed need to be perfect for the oppression to count as real or be worth fighting against is abusive cop nonsense

one of the most important pieces of understanding consent manufacturing in imperial core media is that they never once report on the sanctions imposed on periphery countries that result in unrest.

"HUGE PROTESTS IN IRAN"
sanctions.
"HUGE UNREST IN VENEZUELA"
sanctions.
"CUBA IN CHAOS"
sanctions.

It is ALWAYS a mechanical turk, it is ALWAYS human beings being pressured to do more work for less wages. Every single goddamn time.
MIT’s NANDA initiative found that 95% of generative AI deployments fail after interviewing 150 execs, surveying 350 workers, and analyzing 300 projects. The real “productivity gains” seem to come from layoffs and squeezing more work from fewer people not AI.
MIT report: 95% of generative AI pilots at companies are failing
There’s a stark difference in success rates between companies that purchase AI tools from vendors and those that build them internally.

Bari Weiss says she wants to use her new perch at CBS News to “redraw the lines of what falls in the 40 yards of acceptable debate” in American political and cultural life. She says the aim is to sideline voices like Hasan Piker, Tucker Carlson and Nick Fuentes, and elevate “charismatic”...
