guessing actual car guys hate driving in the city anyway while poser car guys want to be seen in their car by the most people they can per mile
really seems to be two kinds of 'car guys' when it comes to urbanism and streets: car as status symbol and car as hobby/passion project. the latter seem totally fine with or even actively in favor of things like more bike lanes, it's the status symbol guys who flip out about parking.

today's bad news for vr is a reminder that valve could, at any time, with almost zero effort, stimulate vr into being massive, but instead have let facebook destimulate it into being nothing

That train level in Pandora Tomorrow is still fantastic btw. Linear, but leverages a lot learned from the first Splinter Cell into making a tighter, more intuitive and spectacular little mission. Short and sweet, one memorable moment stacked after another.

Almost quaint how small scale Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow is after playing any modern stealth action game but the way it turns a well lit corridor or a person looking out a window into a set piece is incredible. It's why it can have a level set somewhere as cramped as a train. And that lighting!

The cool thing about game development is even if you put out a bad game, if you wait 10 years you'll have adults who played it as kids tell you it fuckin ruled because kids are nonjudgmental like that
