Because itch.io is by far the best store out there for game developers, and also players imo, and has been given a hard time lately, I just put my game InFlux Redux on there, and upped itch's rev share to 30%. I want 'em to have a little walkin' around money impromptu-games.itch.io/influx-redux

I just finished playing InFlux.

It's like Sonic Frontiers inside Windows Wallpapers but also Sonic is not there. Also with actual neat physics-based puzzles and serious Boards Of Canada vibes, which I appreciate.

An excellent roll-playing game. Full of ballsy moves and, um, attractive mechanics.

if a hundred million people start playing a new as-a-service game that just came out, it's a huge mistake to think those people are looking to play more games like that. they're looking to play that game. very few people are open to playing more than one of the same sort of thing

The trouble with chasing trends in general imo is:
a) you probably haven't correctly identified a trend at all.
b) if you have, the trend will definitely be over before you can respond to it
