I’ve been on this app since July 2023 and it has always consistently and enthusiastically supported Allen Iverson in every endeavor he takes on, not sure which Bluesky you’ve been looking at.
Is this platform still massively against AI or has it moved more towards acceptance?

Their denial of the body as merely a vessel for code is shown daily by the way these men treat actual living human beings, including the ones who work for their companies.

These men are chasing their own personal immortailty over piles of corpses. They're the closest thing we have to vampires tbh.

Jeffrey Goldberg's editorial leadership has been a disaster for the human race
Over many interviews, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. told Michael Scherer about how he plans to remake America’s public-health system. Can he lead the scientific establishment he’s spent much of his life crusading against?

The most probable outcome down the stretch is the Bears hemorrhaging points. This is already a bottom-10, bottom-5 defense against a very soft schedule — that’s about to become the ~toughest~ in the NFL.
Against fourth softest schedule in football (Bears have played one team that isn’t bottom-15 in NFL, the Lions, who smashed them), Bears defense is 27th in total D, 23rd in passing D, 25th in rushing D, 26th in scoring D, 24th in QB hurry %, 27th in QB knockdown %, 23rd in sacks, 27th in pressure %.

“Getting turnovers” isn’t a plan and cannot be relied upon as a defensive “strategy.”

Maybe he’ll get lucky or (suddenly) better, but Poles has really struggled to build an even-decent defensive line (including some very poor allocation of the salary cap).
The offense is still too inconsistent. That includes BJ’s playcalling and game plans. This is fine — there’s a clear trajectory of improvement, and the offensive roster is solid, with numerous high-upside players under development.

The defense is awful, though.

Of course I’m glad the Bears are 7-3. I really hope they can beat a good team or two and make the playoffs. But what I “hope” happens is irrelevant to what will probably happen, and I’m very used to the Bears crushing my hopes.

So in that sense, my hopefulness probably predicts a 9-8 finish.

But also, the _reason_ Mamdani could do this is because of the skill set someone like him has to learn being part of our communities. He is able to *perform* the "model minority" role, but is not interested in, and not aspiring to, whiteness. This combination is a hack that breaks media & power.

Most likely Bears scenarios, in descending order of likelihood:

- 9-8, miss the playoffs

- 10-7, miss the playoffs (tie SF for 7th but lose head-to-head tiebreaker)

- 10-7, make the playoffs (7th, win head-to-head tiebreaker v. SF)

- 8-9, miss the playoffs

It will take 11 wins to win division.

The only trophy the Bears have earned is that infamous scourge of masculinity, according to that hilariously sad RC Cola commercial that runs on the (excellent) Hoge & Jahns podcast:

the participation trophy.

Fun fact: if the season ended today (what a meaningless “if” lol), the Bears would be a 2-seed, and also the only one of the 14 playoff teams who did not play a single other playoff team during the “season.”

Their “best” win would be over 20th-place Dallas.
