It's time to win the future back.
This has been the thing with Trump supporters all along. "All of these other people who support him are rubes who he's conned but I support him because I have him figured out."
A prominent music producer. A famous actor. People close with Bezos and other billionaires. One would think they might have more nefarious reasons. But no, they just seem to think Trump is awesome because of his Oval Office dominance plays.

The truth is they're just as stupid as the others.

I think they should go a step further and threaten to zero out federal funding for any university that enters into an agreement with the Trump administration.
Something every 2026/28 Dem should commit to is investigations of any company that did deals with Trump. A kind of forward guidance to get companies to think twice in advance of what’s coming.
Fox News will applaud this but can you imagine their coverage if President Biden hatched a secret plan to take over Fox News and revamp its programming to be nicer to him

It's so pathetic how they trot this Walmart meal thing out constantly because it is the only thing they can come remotely close to hanging their hat on.
Gotta love how Jon Karl and ABC News had this graphic ready to go *the very moment* that Hassett rolled out his Walmart anecdote.

I need people to stop saying NYC Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani’s win proves that Democratic Socialists need to run in every race around the country, or that New Jersey Governor-elect Mikie Sherrill is the blueprint for all Dems looking to run for office.

We need to normalize thinking about large-scale prosecutions of this admin as inevitable.

Cabinet members on down to ICE stormtroopers are going to face justice for their rampage of criminality.

And the public needs to know details of what happened. The murders, the bribes and embezzlement.

I must confess that I was concerned after the 2024 election.

Concerned we’d be so demoralized that we’d simply give up.

There were some hints it wouldn’t be the case (protests, special elections, etc.), but still I worried.

I now know those fears were misguided.

We showed up, we fought, we won.

basically every 2024 truism is dead. Trump did not build a lasting multiracial coalition or turn young men into committed Republicans. You don’t need to cave on trans rights to win. The pundits have nothing left to tell you.

The 2028 candidate that will win my vote is the one that promises to give their inauguration speech, followed by a livestream of Trump's arrest, followed by them hopping in the cab of a wrecking ball and taking the first swings at the Epstein ballroom.

Glad to see Portland protestors getting the note that their demonstrations against ICE need to be anodyne to a point where they cannot reasonably be used in court to support federal troops and are wearing blow up animal costumes about it

In regard to the Ezra Klein thing: hasn't the last two weeks shown everyone that people on the right don't want to have difficult conversations? They tried to cancel anyone who expressed anything but a glowing opinion of Charlie Kirk. They aren't open to different opinions at all.

I mean, the current Kansas Governor is pro-choice, but she won on protecting state education. That's the whole point! You don't win by adopting their positions, you win by fighting where they're weak & you're strong

This is the playbook, folks.

If you're not paying attention now and doing something about it, then you're going to have to sit down the rest of your life because democracy is being taken away.

Do not be quiet in this moment.

The Dems reminding these spineless fools that there can be consequences down the road is a good start. Ultimately, this crap won't stop until they are convinced that the consequences for complying outweigh the consequences for not complying. That will take full court press by Dems and the public.

No one has been more vindicated than normie resistance Dems, women’s marchers and never-Trump Republicans. They were right all along about the threat. The anti-anti-Trump Republicans and reactionary centrists, and the far left “it’s always been this bad” folks have been proved wrong over and over.

The ghouls in his administration have been running around all week trying to pretend their latest round of censorship was in service of protecting the honor of Charlie Kirk then Trump's just like "Yeah bout time they canned Kimmel, wanted that for a while. NBC should can their hosts, too."
Trump now calls for the firing of Jimmy Fallon and Seth Myers.

The Kimmel news really makes the one-week delay in the South Park episode suspicious.

Cancel Disney+ and Hulu. Disney is betting streaming is the future. Hit them where it hurts.
September 17, 2025 at 11:37 PM
It's always instructive to understand the modern GOP as a collection of people who never grew up. The push to cancel people over Kirk is no different than the kid on the elementary school playground who hits a bunch of people, and then goes crying to the teacher when someone finally hits them back.

Some leader on our side should state that we will make lists of companies and organizations that fire people. We can threaten some now with boycotts. We can threaten to hit some in a future administration by barring their ability to win government contracts and by prosecuting any broken laws.
September 16, 2025 at 1:33 AM
What the fuck is Will Stancil. doing right now. The ideology of the Kirk shooter is sonmewhat ambiguous. The right is exploiting that ambiguity to justify destroy any left-of-center institution. Meanwhile, he like, "Hey guys, can we be for sure that he's a groyper despite the costume and memes?"
