On almost everything – fraud, polarisation, radicalisation, misinformation – evidence suggests that over 60s are in much more urgent need of online protection and education than teenagers.

Insulting compliments is one of those things I picked up from my very southern grandmother.
With due consideration, my most damning compliment for movies: "It has a great soundtrack."
While lot of movies have great soundtracks, if that's the first and only thing I reach for? Ouch.

Having watched "Fantastic Four - First Steps" I think back to @mikeyface.bsky.social's recent Filmjoy essay. It doesn't matter if this is the best Marvel film ever (it's very pretty, probably the best attempt at F4), the economics of blockbusters means it was guaranteed to be perceived as a flop.
