I think what a lot of folks miss is how profitable deportation is for the corporations involved & the politicians they're backing.

Holding people, physically removing them, is cost for the taxpayer & profit into the pockets of the worst people you can imagine.

As a reader, I took Sal for granted. As an art collector, I took him for granted thinking, "I'll score one page. Grab another later." Then his prices deservedly skyrocketed. A stalwart of my childhood imagination. He and Gil Kane stood toe-to-toe for best punched out guys flying into the foreground.

I keep seeing these weird takes about Usha Vance being trapped in her marriage. Y'all, that's a grown ass adult. She made her choices, and she's made no effort to change direction. Respect her agency. She chose this. There is no need to make excuses for her complicity. That's weird and sexist.

There were a few hours there last night when it felt like the administration was in damage control & they were signaling "It was never meant to go this far."

Then you can really hear the moment Stephen Miller's coffin creaked open and he came out screaming "DOUBLE DOWN" before drinking a child dry.

I am not at all saying that the rapid response is all nerds. That would be making light of the choice to be brave on the part of tens of thousands of people.

But. Like. When a person organizes a relaxacon, a munch, a wedding between two polyamorus people, or a conference luncheon - you remember.

And teach us that this is working.

Auschwitz was at the end of a process. We must remember that it did not start from gas chambers.

This hatred gradually developed: from ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder.

Auschwitz took time.

A lot of people don’t understand why horror is enjoyable, but the appeal is actually pretty simple. You watch horror to enjoy the fantasy of a world where you can be the most irritating person alive and still have six friends who want to organize a trip to an isolated location with you.

Minnesota National Guard members have arrived at a federal building and were directed to distribute donuts, coffee, and hot chocolate to anti-ICE protesters. Guard members were issued reflective vests so they would not be mistaken for federal agents.

Okay this is fucking ridiculous.

ICE is using the same paper plate on FIVE DIFFERENT CARS. This photo was taken by Harbor Area Peace Patrol, which monitors activity at Terminal Island for Los Angeles and surrounding areas.

No local gov't has held ICE accountable for this shit. #FuckICE
