12 October 1906 | Czech Jewish woman, Helena Hoenigová, was born in Prague.

She was deported to #Auschwitz from Theresienstadt ghetto on 6 September 1943. Registered in the camp. She did not survive.

12 October 1892 | Edith Stein was born in Wrocław. She was a German Jewish philosopher who converted to Catholicism & became a theologian & a Carmelite nun.

She was murdered in #Auschwitz in August 1942.
Stein was beatified in 1987 and canonized in October 1998.

In August 1942 she was deported to #Auschwitz from #Drancy with her mother Sarah, her sisters Jeanine & Yvette and her brother Jacques. All were murdered in a gas chamber.

11 October 1941 | Dutch Jewish boy, Heinrich Lange, was born in Amsterdam.

He was deported to #Auschwitz from #Westerbork in July 1942. He was murdered in a gas chamber after arrival selection with his mother Berta. His father Hans perished in the camp in September 1942.

10 October 1943 | After the selection of 1,000 Jews deported to Auschwitz from Drancy, 491 people were immediately murdered in the gas chamber.

One of those killed was Charlotte Salomon, a German-Jewish artist from Berlin. The author of the autobiographical series "Life? or Theater?: A Song-play".

10 October 1944 | SS detained four female Jewish prisoners: Ella Gartner, Róża Robota, Regina Safir & Estera Wajsblum.

They were involved in smuggling explosives that were used by the Sonderkommando prisoners during their revolt on 7 October 1944.

The women were hanged on 6 January 1945.
