Hey Colorado residents, particularly people in Fort Collins, but also those who are somewhat near: my sister and brother in law are running a study on an easy, portable method to help maintain indoor air quality during adverse outside events (like smoke or pollution).

Of all the awful stuff in this reprehensible bill, the fact that your children stop being considered dependents at SEVEN may be the most horrifying detail.
The Ag Committee's part of the Reconciliation Bill raises the SNAP work requirement age for able-bodied adults without dependents from 54 to 64. It also changes the definition of "dependent child" from under 18 years to under 7 years old to determine "Able-bodied adult without dependents."

I deflect living in reactionary terror by expecting the worst from this administration at all times.

This is very much a slice of the worst.
So much shit under the radar, so much damage. Were I Idaho’s governor, I would (1) put out an APB for qualified scientists who can maintain this facility, and (2) surround this facility with massive state law enforcement resources and make DOGE shoot its way through.

"Disabled children are murdered so often, that there is an entire day designated to mourn them. While ignored by abled people, March 1st is when the disabled community comes together to mourn the deaths of disabled children that die at the hands of a family member."
“There’s outrage when an abled child is murdered, but when it’s a disabled child, there’s excuses and silence. What’s the difference? Abled people see abled children’s ...lives as...more worthy than disabled children’s lives.”

Correct. If the birthdate field contains corrupt or mismatched data, it defaults to 1875-05-20, which serves as a flag. May 20, 1875, is the day the international standards and metrics treaty was signed. Everything is a conspiracy when you don’t know how anything works.

The difference between Sam and Dean is that Sam would “helpfully” suggest tweaks to your grandmother’s chicken pot pie recipe while Dean would just be all “pies come in SAVORY?!”

Genealogy is a super fun hobby.

Sometimes it’s “let’s do a dive into causes of deaths at Vicksburg battalion hospitals!”

Others it’s “why do my 6th & 7th grandfathers have the same name?” then breathlessly trying to confirm that your ancestor DIDN’T marry his own mother’s half sister.
