I have such an ache from the patience I stretch waiting for the rich to be eaten.

Several hours of urinalysis and bloodwork later the vet came back, happy in the way that only people accustomed to giving bad news can be, saying “these numbers are much better than I expected!”

In short, she’s doing pretty damn well for an old lady destined for eventual renal failure.

Update. We have had blood drawn and a urinalysis in the works. She is pissed off and won’t look at me.

At an emergency vet clinic with my 14 year old girl to get her checked over. Caught her peeing outside of her box and her urine was both colorless and odorless. The internet tells me that could either be real failure or diabetes, but who knows. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Finally…four books I ACTUALLY got from my parent’s bookshelves, voraciously read and reread with love. Endless entertainment.

In hindsight, my maternal one never had time for anything beyond an occasional Harlequin, her not a native English speaker w/4+ kids & a chronically ill spouse.
