for my whole life, i have been watching cops make the kind of statements about young black men, killed in questionable circumstances, that are now made by Noem and Trump about Renee Good and Alex Pretti.
This brutality now is, in so many ways, the price for our apathy then.

for years us white folks have been willing to turn a blind eye as people of color were shot dead in the streets by cops for any reason or no reason. our whiteness would protect us.

The similarities between how medical professionals treat autistic woman and how they treat trans women are remarkable. A lot of which seems to stem from being attached to certain narratives about what we "should" be like and refusing to trust our testimony.

It is intensely weird to me that people are posting nostalgia posts from 2016.
My world stopped in 2020, for the most part, so I am physically unable to conceive of that being 10 years ago.
Also, realistically, a lot of people don’t miss 2016, they miss not having a world ruled by dysfunction.
