I think Democrats should argue that Trump's escalation (with zero GOP pushback) sets a new norm for ICE that will equally apply when a Democrat is president. You can't reasonably negotiate about ICE when Republicans never worry about *their* constituents facing the receiving end of an occupation.
ICE may be shooting people in the face, sending people to concentration camps, and illegally occupying our cities but, apparently, the Democrats think saying, "abolish ICE" is "emotional" and politically "lethal."

Not just with hotels. Many rental car outlets will not rent to you if your drivers license shows that you live within 25 or 50 miles of the rental location or sometimes the same state. As car payments grow and car dependency remains the same, these policies could become a major problem
And to those scoffing at the idea that homeless people stay in hotels: when shelters are full, local agencies regularly place clients in hotel rooms. Many unhoused individuals also have jobs and cycle between hotels, cars, friends' apartments, and the street.
