It is not enough to be atheistic. It is not enough to “separate church and state.”

It is time to be anti-religious. Anti-superstitious. A Rationalist society is the only fair society, the only free society.

$100 million is much too high. Make it $10,000.
one thing we need to do as a society is treat all fraud or theft over $100 million or so as a potential capital crime, with the possibility of execution for offenders.

The filibuster debate is really simple:

End it in 2029, pass all that is needed, then make a new law that permanently enshrines it into the Senate in early 2030.
people are being very flip about the possible harms of getting rid of the filibuster *right now* in a way that imo undermines the core case that the Republic is in special peril. it's clearly all downside until 2027 even if you grant electoral backlash! Dems can't have a trifecta until 2029!

i’ve said this before and i remain convinced it’s true, the 2028 platform that would deliver obama 08 results is “i am gonna
bring the hammer down on the corrupt self-dealing politicians and their rich friends and there are no sacred cows id give a pass”

It’s pretty dark that the absolute best case scenario for a lot of these guys is just that they really liked ol Jeff Epstein as their friend

What I am taking away from all this is democracy has been a total illusion and the child rapist people have been running the show since at least the 90s.
Lest there be any insinuation that Dems spared their own. It would be tough for Kathy Ruemmler—Obama’s WH Counsel from 2011 to mid-2014—to come off looking worse in these docs the committee Dems released. oversightdemocrats.house.gov/sites/evo-su...

Best case: The President of the United States knew about a pedophilia ring and did nothing to stop it.

Medium case: He also used his office to protect the perpetrators.

Worst case: Because he was one of the perpetrators.

at the end of the day, market insurance cannot provide insurance for sick people. It isn’t because insurers are greedy (though they are); it’s because every insurer would go bankrupt.

The basic problem of health insurance: if you want sick people to be able to get insurance, then the insurance product ceases to be traditional insurance, bc the insurer cannot price risk. Once you accept that sick people should get insurance, you must accept some variety of a socialized system.
Rick Scott told me his plan would be to take all of the remaining ACA subsidies and redistribute them to HSA accounts and people can then buy whatever insurance a state certifies. Basically a repeal/replace.
He denied when I asked wouldn’t that create two-tiered system where sick pay much more…
